Bird Feeder Accessories Meet Every Need!
Feeder Accessories. You've heard that old saying . . . where there's a will, there's a way. No words were ever truer than when applied to the array of accessories available. They ease our tasks and provide solutions to feeding challenges. It isn't possible to list all feeder accessories as there are so many. However, we'll mention some that you may find helpful. Before we're done we'll offer a great reference or two so you can discover more, and get the details on the ones we've mentioned. Here are the feeder accessories we've found really helpful . . . they might be just what you need, too. - Squirrel Baffles. If you live in squirrel country then you've experienced the trouble pesky squirrels can cause. If you haven't overcome the challenge of squirrels check out the baffels that can be mounted above and below your feeders. This group of feeder accessories includes clear polycarbonate domes called Squirrel Guards that can be placed above any hanging feeder.
If you want some fun defeating squirrels don't miss the "Yankee Flipper" Bird Feeder. There hasn't been a squirrel able to conquer it. To see a video of the Yankee Flipper in action follow these steps: visit
Great Bird Feeders.
When the page opens click on the Yankee Flipper Feeder pictured in the right column. You'll get some laughs -- we promise! Of course, this is a feeder rather than one of the feeder accessories -- but we just couldn't help mentioning it! - Seed Trays. Seed trays are clear plastic feeder accessories with drain holes. They are mounted underneath certain poles that support feeders and provide a couple of benefits:
. . . they help prevent seed from scattering over the ground . . . they attract birds to the seed collecting in the tray. - Replacement Perches. Don't you love the goldfinches and other beautiful small birds that visit your tube feeders? We sure do. After awhile, with all the activity from these enthusiastic feathered guys, your tube feeders may experience some wear and tear. Would replacing some of the perches help? If so, you're in luck. Replacement perches are sized specifically for the smaller birds using tubular feeders.
- Garden Poles. Unless you have lots of trees or other places to hang feeders, you may need feeding accessories known as garden poles. They work great because you can just push the pole into the ground wherever feeder placement is desired.
- Hangers, Connectors, Adapters, Clamps. Like we said earlier, if there is a need there are feeder accessories that provide an answer. You'll find quite an good selection of items to help you mount your feeder to a garden pole.
- Hooks. Do you have the perfect place to put a feeder, but no attractive way to hang it. Good news! There are some great looking hooks available that'll certainly add pizzaz to your garden.
- Feeder Covers. It makes sense to cover a feeder for a couple of reasons. These polycarbonate feeder accessories are large enough to deter squirrels. They also provide moisture protection. These attractive covers are perfect because they don't camflougage any of the activity at your feeder.
- Rain Guards. These covers are very similar to the Feeder Covers; however, they are specifically meant to provide protection from the wet stuff in the rainest areas.
- Create-A-Haven. Just as the name implies, these feeder accessories are a perfect way to convert your tube feeders into protected feeding environments. The Create-A-Haven protects your smaller birds from predators and larger more competitive birds. Also, there is the added bonus of offering more perching room at your feeder. The more beautiful birds at your feeder -- the better!
- Hummingbird Arbor. If hummers don't already fill your senses with enough beauty we have the answer. Encase your hummingbird feeder in a absolutely wonderful wooden garden arbor -- it is a definite "must-see". Visit the link at the bottom of our page, then click on Accessories and go to page 3. The Arbor is a beautiful example of aesthetic feeding accessories.
- Seed Scoops. Are you filling several feeders? You might have an easier time using a seed scoop. It holds two-plus quarts of seed and helps get the job done fast. A seed scoop is an example of feeding accessories designed for your convenience.
- Feeder Brushes and Other Stuff. There is no denying it. Every hobby, no matter how much we love it, requires some work! Cleaning feeders is the task we can't ignore. Why not make it easy (dare we say fun) by using some of the specially designed bottle brushes and related feeder accessories to help with cleaning tasks. They've made a wonderful difference for us!
- Warning Web. What's a Warning Web? It is a protective, easily removed, decal that applies to your window to prevent bird strikes. A window strike usually happens because a passing bird sees the reflection of trees and foliage in the window. Thinking they can fly to the tree the bird hits the window instead. A Warning Web makes your window look like an obstacle to a bird, thus preventing an injury or death. Window Webs do not block your view and are suggested for anyone who needs to protect birds from window strikes.
Note: Actually, birds that are frequent visitors have little risk of striking your windows. They become familiar with your backyard and recognize obstacles. Gosh, there's another good reason to feed birds! - Ant Guards, Bee Guards and So Forth. Are ants and bees getting into your hummingbird feeder and contaminating the nectar? Our "thanks" to those folks responsible for designing the various feeding accessories that protect hummingbird feeders from insects. Our Recommendations
